With current trustless protocols like ZkBridge or Polymer’s ZkMint, one requires massive amounts of compute to generate zero-knowledge proofs, which can only feasibly be delivered by the team that built the protocol, allowing for censorship attacks. Hence these systems cannot be decentralised effectively.

Protocols like Hyperlane, LayerZero, CCTP rely on multisig solution for their verifications. This has severe security implications, leading to billion-dollar-hacks. Not only that, by relying on off-chain actors for the core protocol, control and sovereignty are lost, as logic is moved off-chain.
