Vision

In a modular, horizontally scaled world, interoperability is the most valuable technology. Current interoperability protocols are slow, insecure, and operate outside of the consensus and modular stack through off-chain actors.

Union is the first step towards a world where thousands of heterogeneous app-chains, L2s and monoliths are connected through one standard.

Immediate & Long Term

• Immediate: To establish ourselves as the primary IBC hub for the Cosmos network and Celestia ecosystem, functioning as a specialised coprocessor to Ethereum with an emphasis on bridging and settlement. In this context, our primary focus is on developing and providing the security proofs for enabling seamless bridging between rollups and appchains. The landscape we operate in is markedly heterogeneous with varying consensus protocols across different ecosystems.
• Long Term: Expand IBC support to all L1s and L2s, serving not just the Celestia ecosystem, but the entire modular stack.
