We are excited to announce the Union Fall 2024 Fellowship Program. This hands-on, 4-week program is designed for top developers to gain experience building on Union.

Each week will focus on a different theme, ranging from intent-based applications to cross-chain NFTs and DeFi. Participants will engage in guided quests, exercises, and Q&A sessions with experts in the field, providing them with practical building experience and exposure to opportunities in the space.

The fellowship will end with a Demo Day at Cosmoverse 2024, offering participants the chance to receive additional grants, introductions, a full-time offer from Union, or the opportunity to collaborate with leading projects in the modular ecosystem.

Why become a Union fellow?

Union is a modular ZK interoperability Layer 1 designed for general message passing, asset transfers, DeFi, and NFTs. Union combines two key innovations:

  1. Consensus verification, where validators on one chain confirm that consensus was reached among validators on another chain before accepting a transfer.
  2. Zero-knowledge cryptography, which significantly reduces the computational power and gas required to facilitate these transfers.

Union is the ideal environment to build highly responsive cross-chain applications for three reasons:

  1. Union, with its use of consensus verification and zk-IBC, is the gold standard in modular interop. It is the most trustless environment to build any cross-chain application.
  2. Anyone can build on Union. Union is compatible with any development stack and connects seamlessly with any execution environment or language, such as Solidity, Rust, and Move.
  3. Union is deeply connected with not only existing major L1s/L2s, but also with emerging ecosystems like Berachain, Movement, Celestia, and Babylon. Devs building on Union will automatically gain exposure to these networks.

Eligibility criteria

Union is compatible with any development stack and connects seamlessly with any execution environment or language, such as Solidity, Rust, and Move. We welcome applications from developers who are proficient in one or more of these languages as a basic criteria.

Developers must be interested in building an application on top of Union, or which integrates Union.
